We are pleased to announce that Richard Leung JP of Des Voeux Chambers has been accredited as a mediator on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) Mediator Panel 2024.
The GBA Mediator Panel, jointly established by the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province, and the Office of the Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao SAR Government, was recently endorsed by the GBA Legal Departments Joint Conference and officially announced on 30 December 2024.
The establishment of the Panel underscores the efforts of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to promote high-quality and efficient mediation services within the Greater Bay Area. The consolidated Panel, with 146 mediators from HongKong, Guangdong and Macao, is available at here (Chinese only).
Most members of DVC have experience acting as mediators or mediation advocates. Many are accredited as mediators by HKMAAL in either the general or family category. With multi-lingual proficiency and commercial sensitivity, DVC members are adept at helping parties attain an amicable resolution of their dispute with a view to preserving long-term relationships. Several DVC members have served as members of the Mediation Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association.
