The first IBA Litigation Conference in the Asia Pacific Region was completed on 2 September 2022 in Swissotel Stamford, and the Supreme Court of Singapore Auditorium, Singapore. DVC member Winnie Tam SC attended the Conference as one of the Conference Co-chairs, joined by other co-chairs including Dinesh Dhillon Allen & Gledhill from Singapore, Sunil Abraham, Cecil Abraham & Partners, and Preetha Pillai, Skrine from Kuala Lumpur.
Following the inspirational keynote speech from Edwin Tong SC, Ministry of Law & Ministry of Health, Singapore, Winnie moderated the panel discussion on “Tracing the Influence of Western Jurisprudence in Asian jurisdictions” with thought-provoking presentations from distinguished speakers. A mock Case Management Conference chaired by eminent judges from the Singapore International Commercial Court strikes a perfect finishing note.
Attendees enjoyed a Conference Dinner at the Ballroom of the Raffles Hotel graced by Indranee Rajah SC, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development, Singapore as the Guest of honour and dinner keynote speaker.
